Methven

Methven with the Mount Hutt ski-field is closest to Christchurch city, a mere 1.5 hour drive away, ski guiding available four days a week. Mt Hutt enjoys the best snow and is reknown for having the longest and most consistant season in the Southern Hemisphere. Mt Hutt is suitable from the novice to the die hard, skier to boarder.

Queenstown

Queenstown is in the heart of the South Island with the Remarkables (mountain range and ski-field) and Coronet Peak ski-field. Coronet Peak is the closest ski area to Queenstown- just 25 minutes on sealed road, and enjoys New Zealands best wide and rolling terrain. The Remarkables sitting high above Queenstown offers stunning scenery, family fun with great learner slopes. Queenstown can be flown into direct from Auckland or Christchurch and has a full range of activities on its own (wineries, entertainment, golf, gold-dredging, river jet-boating, lake cruises, bungy jumping etc) as well as servicing the ski tourist. Ski guiding available some days of the week.

Wanaka

Wanaka is 90 minutes drive from Queenstown and has the Treble Cone and Cardrona ski-fields.  Guiding is available two or three days a week. Wanaka itself is on the side of Lake Wanaka and has its own small-town feel, bustling during the ski season and with a couple of wineries as well.
